Adventure, Leadership, and Lifelong Skills – Troop 1589!

Troop 1589 is an active, welcoming, and family-friendly Scouting community in Madison Heights, MI. We meet every Thursday, offering a mix of hands-on activities, leadership development, and outdoor adventures. With monthly campouts, service projects throughout the year, and opportunities for both youth and adult training, we ensure Scouts of all ages grow in confidence, skills, and teamwork.

As of February 2025, our Troop is thriving with 28 boys and 10 girls, supported by a dedicated group of 20+ Assistant Scoutmasters, Adult Leaders, and Committee Members who help make every meeting, trip, and campout a success.

Scouting is for the whole family! Troop 1589 includes:
✅ A Boys Troop (ages 11-18)
✅ A Girls Troop (ages 11-18)
✅ A Cub Scout Pack (grades K-5) for boys & girls
✅ A Co-ed Venturing Crew (ages 14-20) for high-adventure experiences

Founded in 1961 and proudly chartered by Edmonson Elementary PTO (Peek) under the Michigan Crossroads Council, Troop 1589 continues its long-standing mission of building leadership, fostering a love for the outdoors, and serving our community.
