Scouting is a journey that grows with you, offering exciting challenges at every stage. Scouts BSA (for ages 11-17) gives youth the chance to lead, explore the outdoors, and develop valuable skills, all with the support of experienced adult leaders.
Already in Cub Scouts?
Scouts BSA builds on the fun of Cub Scouting, offering youth leadership, outdoor adventures, and hands-on skills—all guided by experienced mentors. The transition to Scouts BSA should be smooth and exciting!

No prior Scouting experience? No problem! Troop 1589 welcomes boys and girls under 18 who meet one of the following:
Adults (18+) are also welcome to join as leaders and volunteers!
There is no restriction on location, school, or church affiliation to join Troop 1589. We have scouts from Madison Heights, Troy, Royal Oak, Ferndale, Hazel Park, Oak Park, Warren, Fraser, Chesterfield, and more!
Our troop meets Thursday nights from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, September through June, at Page Middle School (29615 Tawas St, Madison Heights, MI).
Our Troop Committee meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Leo’s Coney Island (33577 Van Dyke Ave, Sterling Heights, MI). All adult leaders and parents/guardians are welcome to attend!
